This is it: The Honeymoon! They are certainly a very personal experience, but I wanted to share the not-so-private parts of our trip (insert teehee here). Not only is Saint-Sauveur, Quebec a beautiful location, but I also wanted to share this trip because I will love looking back on it for years to come. It’s like a travel blog/journal!
The first day was mostly uneventful: the drive. Don’t get me wrong, though, I live for road trips. I get cramped and tired and cranky as much as the next road diva, but I still adore the experience. Few things are as freeing as packing a bag and hitting the road.
After a few hours of driving we made a special side trip to a store outside of Toronto called We Got Gamez. It’s exactly as it sounds: a video game store. These two lovebirds were swooning. From Nintendo DS to Sega Genesis, and Coleco to Atari, all the way to Xbox and even PS4, this store is PACKED with video games of all generations. Not only is the assortment phenomenal, but the stock is stunning. When you browse the Sega library, you almost feel like you shot back in time to the mid-nineties. It was nostalgia galore, and yet it all felt so new for a used game store.
The owner was there, and he was a joy to talk to. This store is a real passion of his, and it shows. If you’re ever near Toronto, head to We Got Gamez in Ajax, Ontario. It’s such a good store I’d even say it’s worth it as the destination alone. I’m sorry I didn’t get more photos of the store, but here’s a fantastic tour video on YouTube!
After another couple stops, we finally got to the hotel (Manoir Saint-Sauveur) around 8pm. The lobby was stunning, and whatever scent they were pumping into that building was heavenly. I stupidly blurted out to the receptionist that it smelled amazing. Picture a very non-four-star girl in a four star hotel and you can picture how I was dressed and behaving, LOL!
We stumbled into our rooms half asleep, and ordered room service pizza. We are talking fancy-pants, wood-burned kinda pizza. It was delish!! After that we passed out, so I’ll just leave you with a photo of the amazing pizza… Mmmm. Pizza.
